    With the shortage of Diesel, the vegetable transport from Dambulla would come to a standstill.
    Actually if government wants the Lorries carrying vegetables from Dambulla could be transported by railway from “Kekirawa” the nearest Railway station to Dambulla & unload the lorries at Hunupitya or Dematagoda.
    There are 20 container wagons imported during Yahapalana government which are idling at Railway Yards. These container wagons can be used effectively to transport goods as Prima transport flour containers from China bay to Seeduwa by rail at present.
    Only 1% of the fuel is used by Railways at present but carries over 6% of the passengers & 1% goods.

    If Uganda can why not Sri Lanka which has broad gauge Railway (5ft 6inches).
